Post Conference Report: World Institute for Peace 9th Anniversary and WORLD PEACE CONFAB

More than 100 participants, both virtually and physically, joined the 2022 World PEACE CONFAB and the 9th anniversary of World Institute for Peace, last week at the Nigerian Army Resource Center Asokoro, Abuja.

The event was climaxed by paper presentations, induction of Knights of World Peace, unveiling and launching of an anthology titled : SOLDIERS DESERVE ACCOLADES facilitated by the World Institute for Peace and inspired by the Lt. Gen (Amb) Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rdt), former Chief of Army Staff, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The conference was themed “View to Peace Building, Security and Human Right in Modern World: How Can We End Banditry?”

The participants discussed Peace Building, Security and Human Right in Modern World and proffered ways by which banditry can be ended.

Mr. Ibrahim Omipidan, Chief Press Secretary to Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, Immediate Past Governor of Osun State, in his paper presentation, proposed various ways and recommendations by which banditry can be dealt with in today’s world, such as state policing, establishment of cattle ranches, actual enforcement of punishment on offender sensitization of the youths, youths empowerment and entrepreneurship and deployment of surveillance technological tools.

Present at the conference were dignitaries such as the Executive governor of Nasarawa State, Engr Abdullahi A. Sule represented by the Director strategic communications Malam Yakubu Lamai, the AIG Zone 7 Bauchi, Olokode Olawale, Lt. Gen Lamidi Adeosun (Rtd), the chairman of the day ably represented by Major General Edeh Odeh consultant to Nigerian Army Resource Center and many others.

As an overarching conclusion, the participants hailed the efforts of World Institute for Peace, under the leadership of Comrade (Amb) Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi as they promote innovative agendas in promoting the culture of peace across the world and urged the organization to look at ways by which they can facilitate peace in the next general election in Nigeria by 2023.
